Sport-Inspired Design
The new glasses immediately stand out with a distinctly athletic aesthetic. Oakley, a brand renowned for its focus on sports gear and accessories, brings its signature design language to the product — curved shapes and vivid lens colors typical of the HTSN line. The result is a wearable that combines fashion-forward presentation with ergonomic functionality, ideal for both everyday wear and sports use.
Technological Advancements
Compared to previous generations of Meta’s smart glasses, the new model delivers significant technological improvements. One of the standout features is the upgraded front-facing camera, located above the lenses, which now supports Ultra HD 3K video recording. This marks a substantial leap in image quality compared to older Ray-Ban Meta models, which maxed out at Full HD resolution.
The glasses are also equipped with a voice-controlled AI assistant, allowing users to perform various tasks hands-free. From playing music to sending voice messages and executing basic commands, the assistant is deeply integrated into the device and connects seamlessly with Meta’s wider digital ecosystem.
Battery and Charging Enhancements
Another key upgrade is battery life. Under normal usage conditions, the smart glasses can operate for up to eight hours on a single charge. Additionally, they come with a compact portable case that not only protects the glasses but also acts as a charging dock. This case provides up to 48 extra hours of usage, a feature that will be especially useful for travel or long outdoor activities.

Strategic Expansion in the Smart Eyewear Market
The Meta Oakley HSTN model represents a further step in the company’s commitment to smart eyewear. With growing consumer interest in wearables that blend convenience, style, and connectivity, Meta is positioning itself as a key player in this evolving space. Following the success of its Ray-Ban partnership — which has sold over two million units — the Oakley collaboration aims to reach a more sport-oriented customer base.
The product will launch in six different variants, with a limited edition version being released first. This exclusive edition will feature gold accents and Prizm Polar lenses, known for enhancing contrast and color perception during outdoor use. It will retail for $499, while other variants will be approximately $100 cheaper. Pre-orders begin on July 11 in select markets. Official availability in the Czech Republic has not yet been confirmed.
The Future of Wearable Technology
With this move, Meta clearly signals its ongoing commitment to the development of smart wearable tech. The partnership with Oakley illustrates the company’s intention to branch out beyond fashion into performance-focused segments. Further collaborations and product launches can be expected as Meta continues to adapt to market demands and technological advancements.
